Luxembourg has retained its position as the country with the highest statutory minimum wage in the world, according to recent data. The country adjusts its wage floor annually based on inflation and conducts formal reviews every two years. Workers with recognized qualifications can earn more than the standard minimum wage.

Australia, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, and Canada round out the top 10 countries offering high statutory minimum wages in 2026. The European nations dominated the rankings due to their efforts to ensure workers can maintain a decent standard of living.

The highest minimum wage was found in Luxembourg, where skilled workers (18+) earn approximately $3,792 per month and unskilled workers earn around $3,160 per month. Other high-income economies continued to raise their wage floors in 2026 to keep pace with inflation and labour market pressures.
