European Shares Rebound as France Recovers, All Eyes on Warsh's Speech
European shares rose on Friday, led by France's CAC 40 index, which firmed about 1.1% after a sharp decline in the previous session.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.5% to 655.33 points, heading for a modest weekly rise after two consecutive declines.
Luxury stocks and EssilorLuxottica gained 2.3% and 3%, respectively, while French lenders Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, and Credit Agricole rose between 0.8% and 1.4%.
The European Central Bank's decision to raise interest rates in September is still uncertain, with some policymakers warning of inflationary pressures.
