European Stocks Slump Amid Iran-Oman Talks Uncertainty and Rising US Inflation

European stocks were sluggish on Wednesday due to investor concerns over Iran-Oman talks and U.S. inflation data.

A senior Iranian source stated that Tehran and Oman are still working on details of an agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that handles one-fifth of global oil and gas shipments before the U.S.-Iran conflict began.

While crude prices have declined below $90 per barrel in recent days, high gasoline and refined oil product prices have kept inflation a major focus for Europe.
