Europe's Concerns Vary by Nation: Economy Tops List in France and Germany

The economy remains a pressing concern for Europeans, particularly in France and Germany. According to a YouGov survey across six European countries, almost half of French respondents (47%) and 44% of Germans ranked the economy among their country's top two issues. Immigration was also a significant concern in both nations, with 27% of respondents in France and 26% in Germany citing it as a major issue.

In Spain, housing has become a pressing concern, with nearly half of respondents (49%) ranking it as one of the country's biggest worries. This reflects a housing crisis that has dominated Spanish politics over the past year, with house prices rising by almost 13% year-on-year in 2025. In Italy, healthcare emerged as the top concern, with some 43% of respondents citing health and the healthcare system as among their country's two biggest issues.

In contrast, Denmark stood out for its unique set of concerns, with international terrorism or aggression and climate change jointly ranking as the country's biggest issues, followed by immigration. The survey highlights the varied concerns across Europe, with no single issue dominating public opinion across the continent.
