Europe's Markets Eye 24% Earnings Growth Amid Oil Price Pressures

European markets are bracing for a potential surge in earnings growth this week, with the STOXX 600 index projected to rise by 23.4% compared to the same period last year.

The leading European index declined by 0.3% last week as worries over oil prices and interest rates resurfaced, but analysts say that stronger profits now compete with higher oil costs and renewed rate risk.

According to data from TechStock², STOXX 600 aggregate earnings are expected to rise by 23.4%, with profits in the energy sector more than doubling and materials sector earnings up nearly 70%.

The UK's inflation data on Wednesday will be a key gauge of investor sentiment, as well as the flash PMIs due on Friday, which will indicate if growth is broadening without another inflation surge.
