Eurozone Bank Lending Growth Spikes Amid ECB Rate Cuts

The European Central Bank (ECB) released data showing that Eurozone bank lending growth accelerated in July. This is a positive sign for the eurozone economy, as it indicates that businesses and consumers are becoming more confident about the economic outlook.

The annual growth rate of loans to companies rose to 1.3% in July, up from 1.0% in June. Meanwhile, household lending increased by 0.6% year-on-year, after a 0.5% rise in the previous month.

Economists note that this acceleration is still fragile and that the manufacturing sector continues to struggle with global demand weakening. However, banks expect further easing of credit standards in the coming months, which could support additional lending growth.
