Eurozone Bond Yields Eased Lower Amid Global Market Stress
Global bond markets experienced another turbulent week, with Eurozone bond yields edging lower on Friday but still set for weekly gains. Germany's 10-year yield was down to 3.2445%, but remained on track for a 5 basis point increase over the week.
The U.S. Treasury's intervention in the market by expanding its purchases of existing government debt offered brief relief, but yields resumed their climb the next day.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hinted at further Treasury buybacks and fiscal consolidation, but these comments did little to ease concerns about government borrowing and inflation.
