Eurozone Economy Sees Eight-Month High in Business Activity Growth
The Eurozone economy experienced a surge in business activity growth in July, reaching an eight-month high. The S&P Global Eurozone Composite PMI was revised upward to 52 from an initial estimate of 51.9 and 50 in June.
This marks the first time since March that the index has moved back into expansion territory, indicating a strong increase in business activity. The improvement was widespread, with growth in the services sector resuming and manufacturing output expanding at a faster pace.
New business orders increased for the first time this year, reaching their fastest pace since November. This suggests a solid start to the third quarter.
Despite the positive trends, inflationary pressures continued to ease, with input costs and output prices both slowing in July. Business confidence also improved, reaching its highest level in five months, as optimism about the economic outlook grew.
