Eurozone Inflation Hits Highest Level Since September 2023
The Eurozone experienced its highest inflation rate since September 2023, reaching 3.3% in August.
This represents a 0.4% monthly increase and marks a significant rise from July's 2.9%, exceeding the European Central Bank's medium-term target of 2%.
The main driver behind this acceleration was energy costs, with annual energy inflation climbing to 14.3% from 10.3% in July, and a 2.9% monthly increase.
