The Eurozone's annual inflation rate has reached its highest level since September 2023 at 3.3% in August 2026, according to preliminary estimates.

This increase from 2.9% in July is largely driven by a surge in energy prices amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The data has strengthened expectations for an ECB rate hike, with markets fully pricing a 25-basis-point increase to 2.5%, as soon as this month.
