Eurozone Inflation Reaches 2.9% Amid Energy Price Surge
The eurozone's inflation rate accelerated to 2.9% in July, driven by higher energy costs amid renewed Middle East tensions.
According to Eurostat's flash data, annual inflation in the currency bloc increased from 2.8% in June, matching analyst forecasts.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy components, rose to 2.5% from 2.4%, while energy prices surged by 10% year-over-year.
