Eurozone PMI Surges to 8-Month High on Strong Production and Orders
The Eurozone's economic growth picked up pace in July as the composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to its highest level in eight months. According to S&P Global, the PMI climbed to 52 in July from 50 in June.
Services sector activity also improved in July, with the services PMI reaching a five-month high of 51.7 from 49.4 in June. This indicates that production and new orders increased as inflation lost momentum in the Eurozone.
The PMI figures are significant because they indicate expansion in the sector when values are above 50. In contrast, values below 50 point to contraction.
