Experts Split on Cost-of-Living Crisis as RBA Rate Decision Looms
A recent survey of finance experts suggests that Australia's cost-of-living crisis may be over, but many people continue to feel its effects. Thirty-five percent of 38 money experts and economists surveyed by comparison website Finder believe the nation is not in a cost-of-living crisis.
However, Finder's research shows otherwise, with a significant proportion of Australians struggling with high housing costs and expensive everyday bills. Mala Raghavan from the University of Tasmania stated that the country is still in a cost-of-living crisis, citing persistently high inflation in housing and services categories.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is expected to leave the cash rate unchanged at 4.35 percent when they meet on August 11, according to 92 percent of experts surveyed by Finder.
