Fed Decision and Middle East Tensions Spark Market Caution

Financial markets took on a cautious tone midweek as tensions in the Middle East escalated and investors sought safer assets. The Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and accompanying policy statement, due later in the American trading session, also kept market participants on the sidelines.

The US Dollar Index remained steady at around 101.30 during the European session, but its limited reaction was likely due to investor wait-and-see approach ahead of the Fed announcement.

EUR/USD traded within a narrow channel at around 1.1400 early Wednesday, reflecting the broader caution across financial markets. The pair's limited movement was consistent with investors avoiding significant moves before the Federal Reserve's policy statement.

Australia's annual inflation rate declined to 3.8% in June from 4% in May, below market expectations of 4%. This weaker figure put additional pressure on the Australian dollar, which traded at a fresh two-week low near 0.6950 on Wednesday.
