Fed Decision Looms as Inflation Concerns Mount

As investors await the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) decision on interest rates, market expectations suggest they will remain steady at 3.50-3.75% for a fifth consecutive meeting.

This is according to CME's FedWatch monitoring tool, but bets on a rate-hike have been rising amidst growing concerns over inflation.

The consumer inflation rate eased to 3.5% year-on-year in June, but is expected to rise again due to seesawing oil prices fueled by President Donald Trump's war on Iran.

With some policymakers expressing frustration with inflation remaining above the Fed's long-term target of 2%, a rate-hike may be imminent, despite Chairman Kevin Warsh's reluctance to publicly share his views.
