The Federal Reserve is facing a crucial test as it approaches its September policy meeting. Inflation remains elevated at 3.4%, well above the Fed's 2% target, making the decision a key challenge for Chair Kevin Warsh.

Markets are pricing an 85% to 86% chance of a 25-basis-point rate increase, which would be the first hike in nearly three years. The federal funds rate remains at 3.50% to 3.75%, as officials weigh the persistent inflation pressure and economic conditions.

Warsh has emphasized the Fed's responsibility to bring inflation back to its 2% target. 'We have repeatedly stressed the importance of restoring price stability,' he said, reinforcing his stance at the Jackson Hole conference.
