The Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates unchanged this week, but rising oil prices and stubborn inflation have raised questions about the Fed's next move.

Warsh has said that the central bank aims to restore price stability after five consecutive years of inflation above 2%, but he has not offered much insight into how this will be achieved.

The White House is also applying pressure on the Fed, with President Trump urging lower interest rates to boost the economy and reduce borrowing costs.
