The Federal Reserve has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.5% to 3.75%, despite calls from the White House for rate cuts and growing speculation of a potential hike.

Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh stated that 'the economy is showing impressive resilience even with recent shocks; the trends are positive and reveal solid growth.'

Warsh emphasized that inflation remains elevated, running above the Fed's 2% goal, but assured that the central bank will deliver price stability.

The decision was not unanimous, as three Fed officials dissented in favor of a quarter-point rate hike.

President Donald Trump praised Warsh while criticizing the Fed board for not cutting rates, saying 'Kevin's got a board; he's fantastic. He's a brilliant guy, smart. I know he'd love to see lower interest rates.'
