Fed Holds Interest Rates Steady for Fifth Consecutive Meeting
The US Federal Reserve (Fed) has maintained interest rates at 3.5 - 3.75% for the fifth consecutive time, without providing any signals about future rate adjustments.
According to the Fed's decision on July 29, this move is consistent with previous four sessions.
The inflation rate in June decreased to 3.5%, lower than May's 4.2% mainly due to a drop in oil prices. However, inflation remains above the Fed's 2% target.
Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh stated that the decision is a serious assessment of the economic situation and does not mean the Fed will stop adjusting monetary policy.
