The Federal Reserve has decided to keep interest rates steady, but three members of the Fed's policy-making committee dissented from this decision.

According to Reuters, the decision was announced by the Fed on July 29, 2026. Ann Saphir and Michael S. Derby wrote that the move may be seen as a signal that the Fed is not yet ready to ease its tightening stance.

The dissenting members of the committee were not named in the report, but it did note that their views are often at odds with the majority opinion on monetary policy.
