Fed Keeps Interest Rate Unchanged Amid Rising Inflation

The Federal Reserve kept its key interest rate unchanged on July 29, despite rising inflation and energy prices driven by the Iran war. The decision was announced at a news conference with Chairman Kevin Warsh speaking.

Warsh praised the dissenting votes as a 'good family fight' during the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) discussion. Three members dissented from the decision, but their views were not publicly disclosed.

The interest rate remains at its current level, and it is unclear whether future hikes will be made to combat inflation and stabilize the economy.
