Fed Maintains Course as Inflation Frustration Mounts
Federal Reserve policymakers are growing increasingly frustrated with inflation, which has been stuck above their 2% target for more than five years. Despite this frustration, it's expected that they will keep interest rates unchanged at their upcoming meeting in Washington.
The Fed is scheduled to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss monetary policy. While some may expect the central bank to take action against inflation, which has been above target since 2021, it seems unlikely that they will do so immediately.
Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh testified before Congress earlier this month, delivering the semiannual monetary policy report. His testimony highlighted the Fed's concern about inflation, but also emphasized their commitment to keeping rates unchanged for now.
