Fed Minutes Release Could Trigger Hawkish Shock for Bitcoin on Wednesday
The Federal Reserve's July meeting minutes are set to be released on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern, and the market is bracing for a possible hawkish shock that could impact Bitcoin.
On July 29, the Fed voted 9-3 to keep interest rates between 3.5% and 3.75%, with three officials - Beth Hammack, Neel Kashkari, and Lorie Logan - dissenting in favor of a quarter-point increase.
The minutes will provide insight into whether pressure for higher rates extends beyond the three dissenters or is confined to them alone.
For Bitcoin traders, a hawkish surprise would be evident if the minutes show that more than three participants favored a near-term rate hike or if language in the policy-action discussion suggests that some voting members viewed waiting as a tactical preference rather than a settled one.
