Fed officials expressed mixed views on interest rate hikes in minutes released from their latest meeting. While they were generally upbeat about the US economy, some members emphasized the need for more data pointing to strength before making a decision.

The release of these minutes led to a decline in the dollar index by 0.27%, as traders saw fewer chances of a hike. The probability of a rate increase in December remains at 41.7%, according to CME Group's FedWatch tool, down from 45.1% on Wednesday.

New York Fed President William Dudley is scheduled to give a press briefing later today, which may provide further insight into the Fed's thinking. The day will also bring data on initial jobless claims, expected to have slipped by 1,000 to 265,000 last week.
