Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has reiterated that the central bank's inflation target remains at 2%, rejecting speculation about potential changes to this policy.

In a post-meeting press conference following the Fed's decision to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%, Warsh emphasized the importance of restoring price stability and bringing inflation back to its target, even if it takes time.

'For some households, businesses, and market professionals, five years of high inflation have left a mistaken impression... that the Fed's implicit inflation target was somehow above 2%,' he said.

Warsh acknowledged that inflation remains above the central bank's objective but stated that policymakers remain determined to bring it back down.
