Fed to Raise Interest Rates to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16

A Reuters poll of economists has predicted that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16.

This is a significant shift from previous expectations, with 86 of 101 economists polled now expecting an increase, compared to just 65 of 93 in the previous survey.

The majority of economists believe that the Fed will hike interest rates at least twice by the end of March 2027, with 37 out of 70 predicting this outcome, up from only 21 of 82 in the previous poll.
