Fetterman Praises Republican Senator at GOP Convention

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) has been at the center of controversy among his party colleagues for his moderate stance on several issues, and this week he appeared in a video praising fellow Pennsylvania Sen. Dave McCormick (R) at the Republican National Committee's (RNC) midterm convention.

Fetterman, who described himself as 'a commonsense Democrat,' praised McCormick as 'the kind of senator that gets the job done.'

The two senators have teamed up on a joint fundraising committee and Fetterman has been vocal about his support for revitalizing Pennsylvania's manufacturing industry, which has declined slightly during President Trump's second term, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data analyzed by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Fetterman's appearance at the RNC convention has sparked criticism from some of his Democratic colleagues who have accused him of being too friendly with Republicans and not committed enough to progressive values.
