Fnality Bolsters Supervisory Board with Central Banking Veterans
Fnality International has strengthened its supervisory board with three high-profile appointments from the world of central banking. Jon Cunliffe, former Deputy Governor for Financial Stability at the Bank of England, takes the chair of Fnality's UK entity. Meanwhile, Jochen Metzger, a veteran of Deutsche Bundesbank and current Director General for Payments and Settlement Systems, joins the Fnality Europe supervisory board and is expected to chair it.
Ron Berndsen, who previously led oversight and market infrastructures policy at De Nederlandsche Bank, also joins the Fnality Europe board. These appointments take effect on September 10, 2026, as Fnality continues its push for regulatory approvals in key markets. The company is seeking to launch US dollar and euro versions of its payment system.
Fnality's core technology supports atomic delivery-versus-payment and payment-versus-payment settlement, where the asset token and cash token move simultaneously using actual central bank money rather than commercial bank proxies. This approach aims to increase efficiency in tokenized assets transactions by eliminating the need for two-day traditional settlement processes.
