Forint Stabilizes Against Euro After Significant Depreciation
The Hungarian forint (HUF) stabilized after a period of significant depreciation against both the euro and US dollar. The EUR/HUF exchange rate edged higher as the forint's volatility decreased, with no major news catalysts affecting the currency pair during the latest review period.
Despite the stabilization, technical indicators suggest lingering long-term seller pressure. The price remains below its 200-day moving average at Ft368.917, indicating that sellers are still in control of the market's direction.
The short-term momentum signals are generally constructive, with the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) in buy mode and the Average Directional Index (ADX) reflecting a lack of strong directional conviction. However, some divergence is visible as the Hull Moving Average (HMA) issues a sell signal.
The EUR/HUF pair trades above its 20-day and 50-day moving averages at Ft363.776 and Ft361.964, confirming a bullish short- and medium-term structure. The price target for the next five sessions is between Ft363.959 and Ft370.244.
