Frankfurt School Appoints Ulrich Bindseil as Professor of Practice in Financial Infrastructure
Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has appointed Professor Ulrich Bindseil as its new Professor of Practice in Financial Infrastructure. He will join the Economics & Law Department and strengthen the Centre for Digital Economics (C4DE) and the Centre for Central Banking.
Bindseil, an expert in European central banking and financial market infrastructure, moves from Technische Universität Berlin to Frankfurt School. His extensive experience includes 31 years in central banking, including stints at the Deutsche Bundesbank, European Monetary Institute, and European Central Bank (ECB).
At the ECB, Bindseil held various positions, including Head of Risk Management, Director General of Market Operations, and Director General of Market Infrastructure and Payments. His current research focuses on payment and market infrastructures, cross-border payments, and monetary innovations such as stablecoins and central bank digital currencies.
