FTSE 100 Holds Steady Amid Oil Price Slump and Nvidia Earnings

The FTSE 100 index in London remained flat on Wednesday at 10,875.87 points as investors awaited key US inflation data and Nvidia's quarterly earnings.

The blue-chip index showed little change despite some sectors experiencing gains, such as luxury retailers, housebuilders, and the travel and leisure sector.

The energy sector declined by 1.8% due to a slide in oil prices, with BP and Shell falling 1.4% and 2.4%, respectively.

Investors are also watching Nvidia's second-quarter earnings to gauge whether AI-driven spending can continue supporting lofty market valuations.
