G20 Meeting and Economic Data Set for Volatile Week Ahead
The G20 meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, will be a major focus for traders this week. Central bankers from around the world will attend, including Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda, who is expected to address investors' concerns about the global economy.
Another key event is Friday's US jobs report, which is predicted to show employment rose by 45,000 in August. This follows a weak July report that surprised markets with a decline of 23,000 jobs.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will announce its policy decision on Wednesday, with many expecting a hike to 2.75% due to mounting price pressures. The RBNZ is seen shifting from stimulus to a more neutral policy stance, with rates expected to reach 3.0% by December and 3.5% next year.
The European Central Bank (ECB) will also be watching inflation data on Tuesday, which is forecast to hit 3.3%, its highest in nearly three years. The ECB has been signaling a rate hike at its September meeting, but may reconsider if the figure is lower than expected.
