The G20 finance summit has concluded in Asheville, USA, following a two-day meeting. The gathering of finance ministers and central bank governors discussed global economic risks and secure supply chains for critical minerals.

Japanese officials held side talks with US counterparts to discuss the yen and other issues. Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki emphasized that Japanese authorities closely monitor bond market trends, particularly as yields on Japan's 10-year bonds topped 3% for the first time in roughly 30 years.

Bank of Japan Governor Ueda Kazuo linked the rise in Japanese bond yields to global factors, including inflationary pressure triggered by the Middle East conflict and market views on fiscal policy. He stated that authorities will monitor the impact of rising bond yields on the economy.
