GBP Hits One-Month High Amid UK Economic Growth
The British Pound (GBP) is holding steady around its one-month high due to positive economic indicators from the UK. The country's GDP expanded by 0.4% between April and June, a slight decrease from the 0.6% growth in the first quarter.
However, the second quarter saw a significant contribution from services, which drove growth despite production being relatively flat and construction expanding. This suggests that the UK economy has absorbed the price shocks caused by the war in Iran, which has led to increased oil prices.
The GBP/USD pair is currently trading at 1.3527, up 0.30% on the day, while the GBP/INR pair quotes at 129.18 on the NSE, marginally higher than yesterday's price.
