GBP/JPY Consolidates as Japanese Yen Remains Weak
The British Pound (GBP) and Japanese Yen (JPY) exchange rate has been relatively stable, trading at around 216.45 on Thursday after a modest pullback ended its four-day winning streak.
However, momentum indicators suggest limited buying interest in the pair, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering around 54 and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) showing fading positive momentum.
The Japanese Yen remains broadly weak due to concerns over Japan's fiscal outlook and its relatively low interest rates compared to other major economies.
Meanwhile, sentiment around the British Pound is also fragile, with UK fiscal concerns elevated ahead of the October 28 Budget, and the Bank of England's cautious stance limiting additional support for the Pound.
