GBP Rebounds Against USD as Soft JOLTS Data Weighs on US Dollar
The British Pound has staged a comeback against the US Dollar, rising by 0.14% as the US jobs data came in softer than expected.
The GBP/USD pair is currently trading at 1.3451 after rebounding from a low of 1.3419.
The weakness in the US Dollar has been attributed to reduced Fed hawkish bets, with traders now seeing just about 20 basis points of tightening towards the end of the year, down from four days ago.
The soft JOLTS data for June also contributed to the decline in the USD, with job openings dipping to 7.359 million, below forecasts of 7.4 million.
