GBP Sees Gains as Waller Tames Rate Hike Bets
The British Pound (GBP) saw an uptick against the US Dollar (USD), rising to $1.3535, an increase of 0.37%, on Thursday.
This came after Fed Governor Christopher Waller tempered expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike, shifting his stance towards neutrality regarding monetary policy.
Data showed that the US labor market remains solid and business activity has improved, which also contributed to the Pound's gain.
