GBP/USD Breaks Above 1.3500 as US Jobs Data Disappoints
The British pound has broken above the key level of 1.3500 against the US dollar, following weaker-than-expected US non-farm payrolls data.
The data showed that the US economy added only 150,000 jobs in the latest reporting month, falling short of the 180,000 forecast by economists.
This has led to a broad sell-off in the US dollar, with the dollar index falling to a two-month low and providing additional tailwind for sterling.
