GBP/USD Sees Slight Recovery Amid Oil Price Drop
The Pound Sterling has seen a slight recovery on Friday, rising by approximately 0.20% as oil prices plummeted. This downturn in oil prices weighed heavily on the US Dollar, causing it to lose value. As a result, the GBP/USD pair saw an upward trend.
However, despite this gain, the British Pound is poised to finish the week with losses of nearly 0.70%. This decline comes as market participants remain risk-averse and concerned about fiscal issues in the UK.
The UK Preliminary S&P Global Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) and Retail Sales reports showed positive numbers, but these were insufficient to boost the Pound's value. The pair is currently trading near 1.3325, having snapped a five-day losing streak during Asian trading hours on Friday.
