GBP/USD Tumbles Below 1.3550 on Hawkish Fed Remarks and Geopolitical Tensions
The GBP/USD pair has declined below 1.3550 due to hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium.
Warsh stated that with inflation 'running above our 2 percent target, the Fed's predominant focus right now should be ''that underlying inflation is moving to our objective, clearly, and at sufficient speed … otherwise, we have work to do.''
