GDP Forecasts and Economic Indicators in Focus
The Week of August 10-16 sees major economies releasing final second-quarter GDP data. Malaysia's economy grew at a 5.8% year-on-year rate in Q2, surpassing the first quarter's growth rate of 5.4%. Singapore is expected to upgrade its official 2026 GDP forecast range from 2-4% to 4-5%, according to UOB Global Economics and Markets Research economist Alvin Liew.
The Reserve Bank of Australia will hold a key monetary policy meeting on August 11, while the Bank of Japan will release the summary of opinions from its July monetary policy meeting on August 10. The US Securities and Exchange Commission's deadline for institutional investment managers to disclose their equity holdings under 13F filings is August 14.
