Geary County Jobless Rate Climbs While Kansas Unemployment Remains Steady
The latest jobless figures for Geary County in Kansas have been released by the Labor Market Information (LMI) division of the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL). According to the preliminary estimates, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 3.8%, which is unchanged from June but an increase from 3.7% in July 2025.
The labor force participation rate for Kansas decreased to 66.7% in July, according to a media release from the KDOL. In contrast, the unemployment rate in Geary County rose to 5.8 percent in July from 5.3 percent in June.
Overall, seasonally adjusted job estimates for Kansas indicate total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 500 from June. Private sector jobs saw an increase of 1,500 over the month, while government employment decreased by 1,000.
