German Wholesale Inflation Slows to 0.2%, Missing Forecasts
Germany's Wholesale Price Index (WPI) rose 0.2% month-on-month in July, falling short of the 0.4% forecast.
This marks a slowdown from the previous month's 0.4% increase and signals potential easing in upstream price pressures within Europe's largest economy.
The data, compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), shows that while the year-on-year rate remains elevated due to higher energy and raw material costs, the monthly slowdown suggests some of the earlier cost pressures may be starting to abate.
