Ghana Cedi Appreciates Against US Dollar

The Ghanaian cedi has shown some resilience against the US dollar, with the latest Bank of Ghana exchange rates indicating a slight appreciation in its value. The dollar is now selling at GH¢10.9555 on August 17, down from GH¢10.9855 on August 14.

This comes as the cedi continues to trade around the GH¢11-to-US$1 level in the interbank market, supported by increased foreign exchange supply and interventions by the Bank of Ghana.

According to the latest BoG rates, the pound sterling has moved higher compared to the previous rate, with a buying rate of GH¢14.8353 and selling rate of GH¢14.8501. The euro is also trading slightly higher, with a buying rate of GH¢12.6743 and selling rate of GH¢12.6870.
