Ghana Cedi Weakens Against Dollar, Strengthens Against Pound and Euro
The Ghanaian cedi has weakened against the US dollar in the latest Bank of Ghana exchange rates published for August 31, but strengthened against the pound sterling and euro.
The local currency's selling rate to the US dollar rose from GH¢11.2241 to GH¢11.2556, indicating a depreciation of the cedi against the US currency.
However, the cedi has recorded modest gains against both the pound sterling and euro, with their selling rates falling to GH¢15.2390 and GH¢13.0415 respectively.
The latest BoG rates are based on average interbank rates at the close of business on Friday, 28 August 2026.
