Ghanaian Cedi Depreciates Against US Dollar on August 22
The Ghanaian Cedi experienced depreciation against the US dollar on August 22, 2026. At forex bureaus, it traded at GHS11.90 for purchases and GHS12.30 for sales.
According to Cedirates.com, a reliable platform that tracks daily currency rates, the average buying rate was GHS11.42, down two pesewas from the previous day's rate. The selling rate was GHS11.91, up one pesewa from Friday's rate.
On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the Cedi traded at GHS11.11 for buying and GHS11.13 for selling rates. The British pound also saw slight fluctuations, trading at GHS15.19 for buying and GHS16.26 for selling at forex bureaus.
