Ghanaian Cedi Depreciates Against USD on September 11, 2026
The Ghanaian Cedi depreciated slightly in value against the US dollar on Friday, September 11, 2026. According to data from Cedirates.com, a reliable platform that tracks daily currency and fuel rates, the average buying rate was GHS11.56, representing a one pesewa decline compared to Thursday's rate. The selling rate, however, appreciated by three pesewas, reaching GHS11.92.
At forex bureaus, the Cedi traded at GHS11.75 for dollar purchases and GHS12.15 for dollar sales. On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the cedi was trading at GHS11.45 for buying and GHS11.46 on the selling rates.
The British pound and Euro also showed fluctuations against the Cedi, with average forex bureau rates standing at GHS15.39 for buying and GHS16.36 for selling for the pound, and GHS13.19 for buying and GHS14.06 for selling for the Euro. The interbank rates for these currencies were slightly higher.
For money transfers from the US or UK to Ghana, LemFi and Taptap Send offered dollar rates of GHS11.45 and GHS11.47 respectively. For British pound remittances, they quoted GHS15.53 and GHS15.52. The Euro remittance rate was GHS13.34 each from both companies.
Digital subscription payments via Visa and Mastercard for services like Netflix, Spotify, and Apple Music were processed at an exchange rate of GHS12.33 each.
