Ghanaian Cedi Depreciates Slightly Against US Dollar on September 14
The Ghanaian Cedi experienced a slight depreciation against the US dollar on September 14, 2026. According to Cedirates.com, the average buying rate for dollars at forex bureaus stood at GHS11.63, while the selling rate was GHS11.96.
At forex bureaus, the Cedi traded at GHS11.85 for dollar purchases and GHS12.20 for dollar sales. On the Bank of Ghana's interbank market, the cedi traded at GHS11.46 for buying and GHS11.47 for selling.
The British pound was trading at GHS15.38 for buying and GHS16.35 for selling at forex bureaus, while the Bank of Ghana's interbank rate for the pound stood at GHS15.51.
Money transfer services such as LemFi and Taptap Send offered rates of GHS11.47 each for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana. Digital subscription payments via Visa and Mastercard were subject to an exchange rate of GHS12.33 each.
