Ghanaian Cedi Loses Value Against US Dollar on July 28

The Ghanaian Cedi has experienced a slight depreciation in value against the US dollar on July 28, 2026. According to data from Cedirates.com, a reliable platform for tracking currency and fuel rates, the average buying rate is GHS11.53, representing a one pesewa decline compared to the previous day's rate.

The selling rate has also dropped to GHS12.13, another one pesewa decrease. At forex bureaus, the Cedi is trading at GHS11.95 for dollar purchases and GHS12.30 for dollar sales. On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the cedi is trading at GHS11.63 for buying and GHS11.65 on the selling rates.

The British pound and Euro are also experiencing similar trends, with average forex bureau rates standing at GHS15.29 for buying and GHS16.22 for selling for the pound, and GHS13.06 for buying and GHS13.85 for selling for the Euro. The interbank rates for these currencies are slightly higher, at GHS15.50 for the pound and GHS13.26 for the Euro.
