Ghanaian Cedi Shows Mixed Results Against Major Currencies
The Ghanaian cedi has shown mixed results in its value against major currencies, according to the latest Bank of Ghana (BoG) interbank exchange rates for September 15. The cedi strengthened against the British pound and euro but lost ground against the US dollar.
In terms of the dollar, the cedi weakened by a minimal GH¢0.0015 in both buying and selling rates compared to the previous update. It is now trading at a buying rate of GH¢11.4573 and a selling rate of GH¢11.4687.
The pound has fallen against the cedi, with the latest figures showing it buying at GH¢15.4524 and selling at GH¢15.4690. This represents declines of GH¢0.0427 on the buying rate and GH¢0.0416 on the selling rate compared to the previous rates.
The euro has also weakened against the cedi, with a decline of GH¢0.0707 in its buying rate and GH¢0.0698 in its selling rate from the previous update.
